The Faculty of Law of the University of Pretoria congratulates Prof Christof Heyns on receiving the prestigious Don and Arvonne Fraser Human Rights Award from The Advocates for Human Rights (AHR) on the evening of 1 June 2016 in Minneapolis. The organisation 'Advocates for Human Rights' works locally and globally to fight injustice, restore peace, save lives and build the human rights movement.

Two ICLA Fellows Quoted in Supreme Court of Appeal Decision

On 15 March 2016 the Supreme Court of Appeal decided the case of The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development v The Southern African Litigation Centre, dismissing the Government’s appeal against the North-Gauteng High Court decision which found that the Government’s failure to arrest Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir was unlawful.
