Scholarship and exchange possibilities at Cornell Law School in 2016/ 17
LL.M Scolarship
The University of Cornell Law School (USA) is offering one LLM position in August 2015 for a graduate from the UP Faculty of Law. This scholarship includes admission to the LLM programme and a full tuition waiver. Depending on need, the successful student will also be eligible for some financial assistance in order to covering living expenses.
Living expenses for one year at Cornell amounts to approximately USD 20 000-. The successful applicant will however be expected to cover some of these expenses him-/ herself. Part-time student employment opportunities that can assist in covering these costs are in principle available in Cornell. South Africans as well as nationals from other African countries who hold an LLB-degree from the UP, or will hold such a degree by August 2015 may apply. Exchange position
LLB and LLM students at UP also have the possibility to compete for a one semester exchangeposition at Cornell. LL.B students can obtain credit for electives recognized by the Dean, while LLMs can obtain credit for up to two modules that fulfill the UP Faculty requirements. Although no tuition will be charged, the successful candidate will have to cover his/ her own travel and accommodation expenses.
