The Organisers of the Stellenbosch Annual Seminar on Constitutionalism in Africa (SASCA) are pleased to announce  that the Second Stellenbosch Annual Seminar on Constitutionalism in Africa (SASCA) 2014 will be held in Stellenbosch (South Africa) from Wednesday 17 September to Friday 19 September 2014.

This seminar series is jointly organised by the Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa (ICLA) of the Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria, and the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS).

This year the seminar focuses on the theme, “Separation of powers and constitutionalism in Africa: Comparative perspectives.” 

The following subthemes will be adressed:

  1. Diverse approaches to separation of powers in Africa (2 papers)
  2. An overview of legislative and executive relations (3 papers)
    2 country studies under this subtheme (3 papers)
  3. An overview of Legislative and Judicial relations (3 papers)
    2 country studies under this subtheme (2 papers)
  4. An overview of diverse approaches to judicial and executive relations (3 papers)
    2 country studies under this subtheme (2 papers)
