The SARChI Chair in International Constitutional Law in the Faculty of Law of the University of Pretoria organised an international workshop on 'Controversial Aspects of the International Criminal Law Section of the African Court of Justice and Human Rights'. This workshop was held at the University of Pretoria main campus on 12 August 2016.

Speakers included international experts in international criminal law who addressed various controversial aspects of the future International Criminal Law Section of the African Court of Justice and Human Rights. The issues addressed included the prospects of corporate criminal liability, the relationship between the International Criminal Law Section and domestic jurisdictions, its relationship with the International Criminal Court, immunities of Heads of States and the crime of unconstitutional change of government.
