Cheree Olivier is a researcher for Professor Christof Heyns and the National Coordinator of the National Schools Moot Court Competition. She completed her LLB at the University of Pretoria in 2015, with distinction; an LLM in Trade and Investment Law in Africa at the University of Pretoria in 2017 and an Advanced LLM in Public International Law at Leiden University in 2018.

In 2016, Cheree completed an internship at Lawyers for Human Rights, where she provided legal assistance to refugees and asylum seekers. During her studies at Leiden, she worked as an assistant editor for the Leiden Journal of International Law. She also worked as a tutor at the Department for Private Law during her undergraduate studies and acted as a student advisor on the Student Disciplinary Advisory Panel.

Her main research interests are:jurisprudence of international law; women's rights and international humanitarian law.
